Survivor: Philippines

originally aired 9/19/2012-12/16/2012

The order in which players left the game, and the impact they left behind:

  • Zane (Matsing) Another player begging to be voted out early.
  • Roxy (Matsing) [...]
  • Angie (Matsing) Don't talk about cookies, Angie.  Makes you sound vacuous.
  • Russell Swan (Matsing; Samoa) Don't be an idiotic leader, Russell.  Makes you exit early even without having to be evacuated.
  • Dana (Kalabaw) [...]
  • Dawson (Kalabaw) Watch out, Jeff Probst!
  • Katie (Kalabaw) [...]
  • "RC" (Tandang) The victim of a tribemate making an even more baffling alliance shift than Kim last season.
  • Jeff Kent (Kalabaw) Ballplayer outsmarted himself.
  • Artis (Tandang) Apparently really didn't like Mike Skupin.
  • Pete (Tandang) [...]
  • Jonathan Penner (Kalabaw; Cook Islands) Outsmarted himself.  Still deserves another chance to win.  Let him and Coach and Ozzy play together on the same team, and one of them is bound to win...
  • Carter (Kalabaw) Effective in challenges.  Otherwise a nonentity.
  • Abi (Tandang) The most oblivious villain in Survivor history.
  • Malcolm (Matsing) Tremendous competitor.  But buckles under the pressure.
  • Lisa Whelchel (Tandang) Surprisingly effective in this game.
  • Michael Skupin (Tandang; Australian Outback) Proved that he has what it takes to be competitive deep into the game.
  • Denise (Matsing) Won because the jury couldn't bring itself to reward her competitors. Basically the Tina of this season.

Survivor: One World

originally aired 2/15/2012-5/13/2012

The order in which players left the game, and the impact they left behind:

  • Kourtney (Salani) [...]
  • Nina (Salani) [...]
  • Matt (Manono) [...]
  • Bill (Manono) Victim of an idiotic move and an idiot.
  • Monica (Salani) [...]
  • Colton (Manono) One of the most idiotic players in the history of Survivor, and one probably most fans were glad to see evacuated.
  • Jonas (Manono) [...]
  • Michael (Manono) [...]
  • Jay (Manono) [...]
  • Leif (Manono) Survived Colton.  Survived "being short."  That's about it.
  • "Troyzan" (Manono) Deserved to win, and would have, except Kim completely betrayed him for no reason at all, because one of them would have won anyway.  It seems for some reason Kim simply didn't want him to have that shot.
  • Kat (Salani) This season's version of Survivor sweetheart.
  • "Tarzan" (Manono) Brilliant mind.  Extremely articulate.  Came off as crazy.
  • Alicia (Salani) [...]
  • Christina (Salani) Survived being horribly unliked early on.
  • Chelsea (Salani) Blindly followed Kim.
  • Sabrina (Salani) Blindly followed Kim.
  • Kim (Salani) In a season of extremely dubious character, Kim took a sure alliance with Troyzan and tossed it away to assure herself of the female vote.  But she would have had that anyway.  Still baffles me.  But at least Colton went away quickly.

  • Jim (Savaii) [...]
  • Keith (Savaii) [...]
  • Dawn (Savaii) [...]
  • Whitney (Savaii) [...]
  • Cochran (Savaii) Tried to make a big move, failed big, but was still one of the dominant personalities of the season.
  • Edna (Upolu) [...]
  • Brandon Hantz (Upolo) Tried to hide his family history.  Tormented to an epic degree. Memorable even if he would have been the first of his clan to play.
  • Ozzy (Savaii; Cook Islands) Kept competing, even as it became increasingly unlikely that he'd make it to the end.
  • Rick (Upolu) Had an epic mustache.
  • Ozzy (Savaii; Cook Islands) Final exit.  Would still love to see him win.
  • Albert (Upolu) Foolish enough to believe he had a chance to win.
  • Coach (Upolu) Deserved to win.  Without a question.
  • Sophie (Upolu) Won because the jury didn't want to give Coach the win and couldn't bring itself to vote for Albert.

  • David (Zapatera) [...]
  • Julie (Zapatera) [...]
  • Steve (Zapatera) [...]
  • Ralph (Zapatera) [...]
  • Grant (Ometepe) [...]
  • Matt (Ometepe) Just wasn't his season, no matter what he did, much like Burton in Pearl Islands.
  • Mike (Zapatera) [...]
  • Andrea (Ometepe) Also utilized Redemption Island.  Also didn't work out.
  • Ashley (Ometepe) [...]
  • Natalie (Ometepe) [...]
  • Phillip (Ometepe) Believe whatever you want to about him, but he was easily one of the most memorable players in several seasons.
  • Boston Rob (Ometepe; Marquesas) Thoroughly dominated the season, especially after Russell was forcibly evicted early on.  Got the easy win.  Though he already proved he could do this in All-Stars, against far greater competition.

Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains

originally aired 2/11/2010-5/16/2010

The order in which players left the game, and the impact they left behind:

  • Sugar (Heroes; Gabon) Couldn't possibly have replicated her prior success.
  • Stephenie (Heroes; Palau) Clearly needed to be eliminated.
  • Randy (Villains; Gabon) Probably did him a favor.
  • Cirie (Heroes; Panama) Glad to see her go quickly.
  • Tom (Heroes; Palau) Couldn't possibly have improved on his last experience.
  • Tyson (Villains; Tocantins) Did about as well as he could.
  • James (Heroes; China) Try as he might, just can't do what it takes to win this game.

  • Russell (Villains; Samoa) Once again the consummate villain.
  • Parvati (Villains; Cook Islands) Made it to the finals again.
  • Sandra (Villains; Pearl Islands) Proof of the pudding, considered a villain, but still at best an alternative rather than a true winner, because again a jury wouldn't vote Russell to win, and Parvati this time was all but cancelled out.  It's just sad to me that Sandra managed to win twice by default.

  • Brett (Galu) [...]
  • Mick (Foa Foa) [...]
  • Russell Hantz (Foa Foa) Thoroughly dominated the season as the worst villain in Survivor history
  • Natalie (Foa Foa) Won because no one had the stomach to award the win to Russell.  As much as it pains me to say so, fair is fair: he should have won.  (Wait, no he shouldn't.  If you make it to the finals with Russell, you must have done something right.)

  • Jason (Airai) A hapless fan.
  • James (Malakal; China) Evacuated before he could give up immunity at tribal council.
  • Alexis (Airai) A hapless fan.
  • Erik (Airai) The ultimate hapless fan, who did what James didn't have the chance to do this season, give up immunity at tribal council.
  • Natalie (Airai) A hapless fan.
  • Cirie (Malakal; Panama) About the same as last time.
  • Amanda (Malakal; China) Unfortunately the same rotten luck with the jury as last time.

  • Nicole (Morgan) Expendable in a season of pirates.
  • Ryan S. (Morgan) Played in a season of pirates.
  • Lilian (Morgan) This is where she should have stayed, rather than her grossly emotional nature making to the final thanks to the Outcast tribe.

  • Michelle (Drake) On the wrong side of numbers.
  • Trish (Drake) On the wrong side of numbers.

  • Ryan O. (Morgan) On the wrong side of numbers.

  • Tijuana (Morgan) Wrong side of the numbers.
  • Christa (Drake) Wrong side of the numbers.
  • Burton (Drake) Voted out again because he still couldn't figure out how to play well with others.

  • Lilian (Morgan) You wear the scout costume you stick by the scout costume.
  • Sandra (Drake) The luckiest winner in Survivor history, not just because she won this season but got to play another season exactly like it, and won that one, too. Otherwise a pretty thoroughly unremarkable player.
